Then you are out of luck. Look for some nice pictures on the internet and have some fun.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

Normally Windows just accepts MS-created themes, but there are no alternatives. I can understand you're sick of blue, metallic and olive.

Way one: There was something in a German Computer magazine. You need a patch of the file uxtheme.dll. I tried to do it according to the magazine, but it didn't work. I also think it's very dangerous because uxtheme.dll is a system file. Nevertheless I'll try to find it. To make your own theme you can use a program called resource hacker. I don't know where I'd got it from, but it works really good. You just have to copy the file luna.msstyles (I don't know where it is on your computer because I've got the german windows version, so you can look for it) and edit it with the program.

Way two: For that way you need a program. It's name is StyleXP and you can get it on http://www.tgtsoft.com With this program you don't need the patch, and it has a lot of cool features like exchanging the internet explorer icons, changing the boot and login screens and making the menus look transparent. On the website there is also a program to design your own theme. You just need a painting program (even paint!) to edit the pictures. The programs are free for the 1st 30 days, then each of them costs approx 20 $.

I agree you really should create your own themes. You can manually change everything from your background picture, through sounds, all away into the color scheme manually. Then give it a name and save that under themes. Don't be an imitator be an innovator!

Make your own theme. It's simple to do. Why bother with using what someone else come up with? Be original, it's your computer, you're going to look at it every day, why not make it a work of you?
