I read Tyrosine is supposed to lift moods too but St Johns Wort seems more popular, anyone with experience with either? I have been depressed for a long time now. Help! Thanks

Yes, it works very well but you need to allow about 2 weeks to see a significant improvement.

it can get you over a down period, but if you have prolonged depression you need to find out why, talk to your doctor and have him evaluate the problem,it is not normal to be depressed unless you are going through a difficult period in your life. I was on both St.Johns Wort and Tyrosine and it didn't help me,I was on Prozac for 8weeks,and then went for grief counselling due to a death in my family. I do not take any antidepressants now.

It works for some people and not for others. All you can do is try it for a while. If it doesn't work, talk to your doctor about anti-depressants.
