This would not at all be a healthy choice. The USDA Food Pyramid suggests that you vary food choices between all food groups: Meats/Beans, Vegetables/Fruits, Dairy, Grains, Physical Activity, and Some Oils and Fats
The best advice I can give you is to live by these rules:
1. Vary your Veggies (eat yellow, green, orange, etc.)
2. Focus on Fruits (eat many fruits, but stay weary of juices)
3. Get at least 30 minutes a day of excercise
4.Go easy on fats
5. Make half of your consumed grains whole instead of white
Those tips might be able to help you out in the long run. I hope that you aren't considering the "one apple a day" diet... :P Good luck to you and stay healthy!

That reminds me of the guy that was on a diet, when he almost got used to not eating, he died of hunger.
Diets that depends on low food intake are bad, in short and long term. You need to eat healthy, but smart. Stop high calorie and processed foods, and eat more fruits (not just an apple), cereals, meat, and other whole foods, and make sure you never go hungry. When the body gets hungry, it doesn't start to consume body grease, but muscle, leaving the grease for later (because it doesn't know when it's going to get more food).
Try making excercise, like running, jogging, walking, cycling, pilates, whatever aerobic excersice you like.
And, a brazilean model just died of malnutrition because she only ate an apple and something else.
Be smart, and don't try to rush your weight loss. Go slow but steady..

After a week you would loose NO weight, the body would go into starvation mode and would hold onto everything it can. However, a few weeks of that would make a difference. I am guessing you are planning to try this or you wouldn't be asking such a stupid question.

I'm not sure, but you would gain whatever that number is, plus some, back the next week.
