No. Allowing yourself to be murdered/killed is not the same as committing suicide. The motivation is different.

A suicidal person ends their own life because they have pain, of one sort or another, that they no longer wish to deal with. Death actually looks like an acceptable "out".

Jesus' death can be likened to a soldier throwing himself on a live grenade, so the grenade doesn't kill a bunch of kids standing nearby. The soldier accepts death in order to save another's life. It is considered a "heroic sacrifice".

Actually, this is a valid question. he may not have killed himself, but he offered himself up as a sacrifice. the same may be said of any cult 'victim' other even those who stand in front of trains. we may believe what we want, but offering yourself up to die is suicide. the outcome may have been to save our souls at end of time, but regardless of the intent it is self sacrifice. yes, it may have been because of his desire to save others, but then he had no fear of death because he would never die anyway, so he lied. the son of god cannot die, so the death was a trick.

so either way, some not so pure action was in effect.

btw thumbs down this post as much as your christian fingers can . as it doesnt change the fact that something wasnt right about the whole thing. i mean, even back in the old testament, because of eve and adams fall from gods grace, even the animals had to be punished with death by old age. what sort of god punishes the innocent. oh yeah, the same one that sounds suspiciously like an immature control freak human. your belief is a sham that constantine pushed to prevent rome from falling. he loved his pagan ways, but loved control of the masses more.
freak nasty christians, may god have mercy on ,my soul. (because you dont have a say in it)

It was a part of his life.

He knew it was to be- but my pastor says he didn't go willingly for it.

Jesus must've loved life too- he could've been scared. But he went- it was a part of his life, I guess. So that's him.

If he had commited suicide, he would've willingly done it. Suicide isn't a pure thing- Jesus wouldn't ever do suicide.

When a person dies for human benifit it is not suicide. He was forcably put on the cross and would have died anyway. But he had the power to suffer even more with the people's sins.

he sacrificed his life.suicide is killing yourself,he was killed by way of torture and he was willing because he wanted to die obedient to his father in heaven. Those who commit suicide have no full respect of life, but Jesus gave up his life in order for those who put faith in him to have eternal life.

It was not suicide. He himself described it this way: 'no greater love is this, than a man should give his life for his friends.'

John 10:18 "No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father."

Jesus didn't commit suicide. He knew why he was dying, but he didn 't kill himself. If someone kills you because your gay, you know why you died, you didn't pull the trigger yourself.
