Making my own, with butter, brown sugar, and a little flour to help hold it together. Any other suggestions?

You're going to want to minimize the moisture.

I'd start with the crumbs, adding a little melted butter at a time. Skip the brown sugar, or use it sparingly, otherwise it will caramalize, and possibly burn. Combine butter and crumbs in a pie pan, squish it flat, avoiding cracks, keep it moist with butter, add as needed, then put it in the oven until firm and golden brown.
