I take it he does not have any kids of his own. He is only trying to be considerate and doesn't realize that you can multitask.

If he is doing this all the time...NO! it's not normal...I can understand every now and then if he thinks you need space but rushing off the phone every time he hears your daughter in the background is disturbing. He probably gets so wrapped up into you that he forgets or overlooks the fact that you have a daughter. I think you need to confront him and ask him if he has a problem with you having a daughter. If he does you should ditch him because you shouldn't put ANY man before your kids =)

Don't handle it, it is perfectly normal. He listens and can tell that you are busy at the time and would like to get you when you don't have a lot on your plate. He wants you to be able to listen to him the same way he listens to you and when you're shopping or getting your daughter juice, he does not have your full attention. There's nothing wrong with his reaction. When he says call me back, he might have something going on too, even if he is the first to call. Us guys are known to call while doing other things...I don't know why we think we can talk and play a video game at the same time.

The only thing your BF is doing is Respecting you.
He sounds like a keeper.
The phone or Cell phones have become such a common thing that people don't realize that while on the phone you can disrespect others. Sounds like he is respecting you and the type of environment you may be in that certain moment.
If it truly bothers you and he is a keeper talk to him or when he calls answer with "nothing that can't be handled' Leave the door for convo open.
Best wishes

Sounds like he wants any reason possible to get OFF of the phone. My b/f hates talking on the phone. Does he always call back? If he does then at least you know he likes you. How about trying to keep the conversation short on your end and letting him off the hook.
I read your question to my b/f and he said maybe he is married and can't stay on the phone long so he says he'll call back when someone walks in the room where he's at.

18 years? What have been you doing in math classification? attempt greater like 31 years! you ought to pull that crap on somebody else yet not me! besides, i'm basically speculating right here yet i could think of that given this variety of guy that should ask you out, he's in all probability in penitentiary desirable now or no less than under living house arrest and burried under such diverse restraining orders that he won't be in a position to bypass away the sidewalk around his backyard without violating his parole or something. specific, provide him a decision, stable success with that!

Well, personally, I think you should get another bf because it sounds like he is not interested in your daughter at all. You all come as a package deal. You can always get another bf. Your child will always be there and you'll never have another child that is exactly the same. Just a little advice from me to you.

I would be annoyed and let him know that you two can still talk to each other maybe he thinks you would be too distracted to talk so he wants to call you back ask him about it and go from there

Either he doesnt want to deal with your child or when she asked for juice he gets irrated. You didnt say how old she is and that would have helped. Sounds like he just doenst want to be bothered by her.
