I tried most everything on this site and others. Finally, I came across spraying cooking oil (PAM) into the door locks and slamming the car doors a few times. I tried that, but at first it didn't seem to work until I pushed both thumbs into the map light switches and held them down for a few seconds. The lights then went off. Actually, I think the cooking oil spray did the trick. I probably in earlier frustrated attempts to shut off the lights had actually lost track of how many times I pushed the switches on and off and hence they were in the on position after the oil solved the problem.

you may have the manual positon in the headlight switch set to on! This was put in cars, so you could "read maps" in the dark!
Are they still on after 5 minutes, - since most of newer cars have a "delay" circuit when the door has been opened (getting in or out)! There is probably a way to turn this off too! Look at our owners manual!
And of course if all else fails, there is always the fuse!

If you don't have the manual switch on. Then this may be perfectly normal. The interior lights are delayed. It gives the driver enough time to gather up his/her belongings and head to the house. Should shut off all by themselves within a minute or two.

you need to check it ,at the switch it has a control there that turns it on,you probably hit it by mistake, and that will keep the light on,check the owners manual for how to control the light with the switch,,good luck,i hope this help,s.
