I don't think so. She can contact social services in her county and see if there is some sort of medical assistance she can apply for.

Thanks be to the Republicans in the USA who did not want go socialize medicine in the US. Now no one can afford treatments or insurance

I know exactly how she feels...

Some of us will die with our ailments because we have no insurance and can't afford to pay the rediculous COBRA payments.

When Insurance offsets your lifestyle so much so that it becomes more worth it for the sake of your family for you to be sick than it does healthy... That is a sad day in America! It has been a sad day in America for a very long time!

Im not telling anyone! Im glad she has and is trying to get help!

Good luck!

Who told her she has pre-cancer on her lip? If it was her doctor, he/she knows your friend has no insurance. Tell her to remind that person that she has no insurance, and if surgery is recommended, for the doctor to schedule it at the hospital at your local university, or any other publically owned hospital that will allow her to make payments that are structured around her income.

last resort -

change employers - and then get signed up on the new employers medical plan - usually when you come to a new company - you do not have to fill out any preexisting conditions as you are a new employee -

And ask if you can do that - in your interview!
