I used Nioxin, all it did for me was cost a lot of money for a really mediocre shampoo and conditioner, I also didnt care for the minty scent.

If you normally shampoo your hair everyday, you can deffo continue that habit with Nioxin. It is a complete hair care line that includes shampoo (called cleansers), conditioners (scalp therapy), treatments, gel, mousse, hairspray etc. To start, just use the shampoo and conditioner, the treatment is pricey and you should put off getting it until you find that Nioxin works on your hair. I work at a beauty supply store and have many, many clients coming in and buying Nioxin consistently. Of course, it does not work for everybody but it's worth a try because a lot of people DO find that it works. Results vary from client to client but you MUST use only Nioxin, don't mix and match your shampoos. You can stop using it and go back to your normal shampoo/cond but don't skip back and forth -- it will not work. Try to use it all the way to the end, you might not see results in the first couple of weeks but many people see results right away. Just stick with it, you spent the cash, so commit to it. Right now, there are boxed holiday sets that save you 38% (if I can remember correctly). Shampoo/ Conditioner duo will run you 26.99 CAD before tax. Hope this is helpful and Good Luck with Nioxin.

Hi, I'm actually a hairstylist and user of Nioxin and Aveda products. I always recommend that my clients have their thyroid checked first and inquire about any new medications they may have recently begun to take as thinning hair is often a side affect of both. If there is no medical problem to be found, and even if there is, Nioxin is a great product to help with new hair growth and it will maintain growth until you stop using them. My Grandma has a thyroid problem and Female Pattern Baldness (which is hereditary-woo hoo!) and she was the first person I started using it. After 30 days, she had so many new hairs growing in, it sold me and my Mom on it and we've been using it off and on now for about 4 years now. I've heard products like Rogaine work okay also, but my understanding is that they use drugs and Nioxin does not. Hope this helps you. Good Luck!

I LOVE Nioxin! It's the only Shampoo and Conditioner I use. I don't have thinning hair my hair is actually really thick but I use Nioxin because I love the smell and it really strengthens my hair and leave no residue. I think it's worth a try!

you could be losing hair for reasons that could be remedied, like stress or diet. i'd ask a doctor first.
