if he pulls you in a weird way then it could hurt you, or if he pulls you on your tummy then it could hurt you and the baby. I would suggest if you decide to keep walking him, then you make sure someone else is also with you. This way you can hand over the leash incase you pull a muscle or something. good luck.

You may need to take half an hour each day in your own backyard to 'teach' the dog how to behave on the lead.
Walk around in any old direction, if he starts 'wondering', give the lead a quick firm yank - quick I stress. This will stun him a bit and make his mind think about why he recieved this disruption in his walking.
Try sneakin a few treat along with you on the walk, when he does go to set upon another dog or walk ahead of you, give him the jerk of the lead, make him sit, try to relax him & say No.
Just leave it at 1 word otherwise confusion sets in.
When he stills and u have most of hopefully all of his attention, let the other dog pass then reward your dog.
I trained mine when she was 12 weeks. Persitance, big smiles n clapping, scratches etc when the job was done right. Then I dwindled the rewards down to nothing but a "Good Girl".
The last 7 yrs with her has been bliss and she's never walked on a lead unless I was in a place where law prevails!
Goodluck, it's worth it!

Hey! I have two dogs, one is great on the leash, the other was a pain!! She is a black lab, about 80 lbs. I got a "Gentle Leader" for her and it works GREAT!! My 4 yr old nephew can walk him with it!!
I think it's great you are walking the dog...I walked my dogs up until about 6 hours before I delivered!!
"Gentle leader" is a name brand, but there are other brands that are the same concept and perhaps a little cheaper. Make the investment, you won't be sorry!!

Take him to an obedience class and teach him as well as yourself how to walk.
