the gun dosent have nething to do with the powerfulness of the cartridge. power is measured in foot to pounds. it also depends alot on the grain of the bullet.

a speer 300 gold dot hp .50 AE is 1600

a win 260 partition gold in 44 mag is 832

and a lapua 158 SJHP in 357 mag is 1127

another thng for the answer is went with the bullet that had the most knock down power but tey do differ alot epending on the make of the bullet and the grain.
