They were working fine on our way to the store this evening. We came out half an hour later and they were acting as described as soon as I started up.

They just stop wherever they happen to be when I turn them off. In interval mode there is no pause between wipes. It seems like they wipe slightly faster when the car is moving.

Could this be a bad wiper motor, or some other piece of circuitry?

Thanks for any insight.

I figure I'll check the wiring first, though I'm always nervous working around the airbag, and let a mechanic look at it if that doesn't work.
I'll be away for a long weekend, so I'll likely just vote for whatever it turns out to actually be. Thanks for all the answers, everybody!

Well This could be in the wiper control arm on the steering column. On my 4runner this piece included the turn signals arm. It was about a $240.00 part.

you probly have a loose wire somewhere might look into checking your wire connection first then check your relays too.
