go to a dermatologist, you know many people think they just have acne when in reality they have bacterial skin infections..go to a dermatologist- they can help, not only with topical medications but also with antibiotics if you need them, sometimes these problems need to be treated from the inside out and not just "on top of the skin"
Unfortunately there are also people out there (like me) that have acne because of hormonal influences- mine did not clear up until I had a hysterectomy *LOL* I DON'T advocate going to that extreme though!

It took Proactiv a couple of months to clear my skin completely. I used to have horrible pimples and acne everywhere, now I rarely get pimples (although there's always the occasional big one, but not nearly as bad as before.) I found that Proactiv wasn't giving me the exact results I wanted, so I've been using ZapZyt benzoyl peroxide cream 10% in addition to the Proactiv, and it has helped tremendously. Use it after the toner and before the lotion. If this doesn't work after a month or so, go to a dermatologist and consider going on medication.

Go to a dermatologist.
Mine told me that face wash doesn't play a big role in how your acne behaves, in fact, I believe that a facewash should interfere as little as possible with your skins delicate balance....
If you can't afford that the routine thing they do is prescribe you a retin-A cream of some sort, have you use something with benzoyl peroxide (such as proactive), take anti-biotics, and use spf 30 sunscreen (olay...not like banana boat).
Hope that helps.

you might want to try products by LUSH. i too use proactiv, and lately it hasn't been working as well for me. i decided to switch to this company because they make the most amazing fresh products you've ever seen.
i have combination skin, and the products i've chosen are:
aquamarina - cleanser
ocean salt - scrub.. since my skin is sensitive i only use this once a week
celestial- moisturizer.
there are a lot of products to choose from though that you can pick geared towards your skin type. keep in mind that when you switch facial products, it takes awhile for your face to adjust. give it a couple months and see if lush can work their magic on you!
(the forum is a LOT of help too, if you have any questions my fellow lushies would love to help you out..the link to it is on the website)

I have been using all different types of acne medications. Go to your doctors and ask for differin, they know some really helpful stuff, even pills. Or if you can't go to the doctors or dermatologist, go to a drug store and get some oil free ance wash and then use some of the cream they have there. It might help for you! Good Luck!!

I found that proactive bleached my towels and clothes... I was super mad!!! I didn't even bother sending it back...
I stated using Mary Kay, then I ended up selling it... Facial skin needs a balance of being clean, refreshed, refined and moisturized...
Lack of moisture in your skin creates acne... I know it sounds odd... most people think "my face is oily, I need to wash it before I breakout"
Microdermabrasion is a good way to get ride of dead skin cells (which cause breakouts also) ...
Clinique has good facial cleaning products. Lancome sells AWESOME moisturizers... MAC's cleaning products are horrible for your skin ... they are more of "get the makeup off my face" type of stuff... so...
I hoped this helped hun!

use a lemon...cut it in half, rub it on your skin, the acid will kill the oils and cleanse the pores. just be sure to wash your face really well afterward to get the acid off......if you have really dry skin you may not want to use the lemon as it might dry it out even more
