what is the name of the tree in this picture? i have seen three such trees like it in the montrose/allen parkway area of houston, texas; two are near the buffalo bayou in the park. i am really interested in knowing the name of it. (sorry the leaves in the background are not clearer)

Although I can't see the leaves, I think it is a goldenrain tree (Koelrueteria paniculata). This tree produces reddish-brown fruit that resemble Chinese lanterns, and I think that is what the picture is of.

Edit: the more I look at the picture the less sure I am.
