I lived in Florida, and I had a boyfriend, Keith. I ended up moving with him to Panama City Beach and we had an apartment together and stuff. We were together for about 2 years. We were pretty serious and talked a lot about getting married and having a family some day.
We broke up not too long after I moved back home to California and I haven't spoken to him for almost exactly two years (kind of a bad breakup). I looked him up on MySpace and although his profile is set to private, I can see his sexual orientation is gay.
I can't say that I am super shocked because there were times during our relationship that I sometimes wondered if he might at least be a little curious but I am still shocked.
I guess I am kind of struggling with the fact that if he was gay does that mean he was never IN love with me? I know he loved me but was the 2 years that we were together absolutely nothing but a friendship with occasional sex?
Can someone explain what he was and is going through?

only he can explain what he was and is going through. we can only speculate. There are lots of people in the world who have been in heterosexual relationships and then decide to be honest with themselves and come out as being gay. I am sure it has nothing to do with something you did in the relationship (i know you didnt indicate u thought that, but just in case). It is very possible that he was in love with you when you were together. That was the past, though and you should leave it as such. You have the right to feel anyway you want to, but if at anytime in the future, you have contact with him...when the time is right, just ask him. it can't hurt.

It sounds like he was bi-curious at the time you and he were dating, and he didn't feel able to tell you that. But now all that is in the past, and I think you should just forget about him and move on.

I would say he probably DID love you back then. But people can change with time, and apparently he has.
