My mom didn't let me but i started anyhow shaving my legs at 11. I wish i would have waited until like 12/13 cause once you start you will not be able to stop.

11, but I think it depends on the child. Besides, what difference does it make, really? As long as you teach her the proper way to use the razor and she is old enough to do so I don't see the harm. At some point all young girls become curious about such things as this and will find their answers somewhere else if you don't provide them. At least if you answer her questions, show her how it should be done and make sure she has all the necessities for shaving to be a safe and drama free learning experience then I say, Why not? Then you will have helped her through one little speed bump with a happy ending making her much more open to coming to you again for guidance and answers the next time. Their lives and transition into young adults is hard enough all by itself. The real dramas will come, so go with the flow on the little things that won't cause any harm anyway. Besides, believe me if you don't allow her to shave and show her how she will do it anyway when you're not looking. Wouldn't you rather be part of her decision making process?

I am 19 and my mama let me start shaving my legs at the age of 12 becuase that's the age she was allowed to. Alot of my frineds were shaving their legs at 10 and 11 so I felt left out. Does she shave under her arms? My advice from an adult point of view but also as a teen let her start a few months after she starts shaving the underarms.

You should let her start to shave her legs as soon as it becomes a problem for her, if she’s brought it up to you then your there. If this is something that you have thought about, as long as you have an open relationship you should just wait for her to come to you about it. These things are part of growing up and maturing. Just make sure that you help her the first time. I recall more than a few ouches because I tried it alone. Good luck!

I'd say around 12, and in the summer sense thats when she'll be wearing shorts and or skits. Don't do it very often though because the more you shave the faster your hair grows, tell her it's only something she'll need to do if her legs are going to be noticeable. It'll save her from falling into having to shave her legs every day when she's older.

My daughter is not in age to shave yet-she is only 2yrs old-but i remember my grandma telling me at age 14 that i could not shave my legs! She would tell me that if only i waited the hair would fall off by itself--so one day me and my girls got to gether and shaved my legs bc i was hairy!!! But now as a mom i think i would allow that my daughter to shave as early as 12 years old if she was hairy enough to need to shave.!!!!

Depends on a lot of factors, but maybe you can ease in to it gradually.

If she has visible hair growth, and she's over 12 (any younger and I'd see a doctor), maybe you can start with electric shaving once or twice per week and work up from there as the need grows no pun intended).

This will let her see that maybe it's not all it cracked up to be, if it's just something all of her friends are doing now.
