im doing the same type of tattoo here shortly and i wont give you my idea for what im about to get done as its a little morbid in ways LOL with the loss of your son which im sorry to hear i would say maybe get a angle holding a baby boy looking up to the heavens with a ray of light coming down on to your tattoo as if god and his garden angle are watching over him...
If you have any good photots of your son thier is really good artist that can do a portrait of your son that is life like that way you can always have him with you.. hope i gave you some good ideas for what your looking for and the key thing is to think about what he ment to you and all the things around him and his life that ment somthing to him and you both like a toy he loved a place he loved to go ect and just think think and think some more before going out and getting something you wont want i have been sitting on many diffrent ideas for years and the idea i have now i have been sitting on it for over a year and it has stuck and is what im going to do so think hard before hand..

I just got a tat on the back of my neck and it is my initial "A" that kinda has a heart built into it. You should get a plain and simple "K" with curl swirls on the tips. People keep tellin me that it is cute because it is simple and elegant. It would also allow it to be seen if you want to, or you could hide it if you don't want it to be seen. I think it would be a small nice reminder of your baby boy.

I'd go simple. You'll only need a small reminder to keep him in your heart. Probably just his name and a flower or heart or angel.
Definitely don't put it in anyplace that is for "sexy" tattoos, like lower back or hip as that would be kind of weird.

I'm sorry for your loss...
I can picture a small halo with small blue-white wings on either side and his birthdate in numbers underneath.
