Okay, okay, I know you're not supposed to pop zits and stuff, but I got a giant whitehead and I just HAD to pop it. I made sure my hands were clean and my face was clean, and I just poped it---easy. But then there was this little bit of loose, odd-colored skin under the pus, and I made the mistake of picking it off. Then it started to bleed (mildly).
I stopped the bleeding after a few minutes and disinfected it with rubbing alcohol, but the area around it is still slightly swollen, and I know I'll have a scab.
And tomorrow being Thanksgiving and all, I wanna look my best for friends and family who (most) I haven't seen in a while. How do I get rid of the swelling and prevent a major scab? I've heard of ice, eye drops, etc. Which actually work??

This may sound odd but put some toothpaste on it not gel but the paste overnight.

Always put ice on it right after popping zits to reduce swelling. You may have to use a small dab of hemroid cream to help. It actually works.

You cleaned it out... good... dab some neosporn on it to draw out any infection. Put a cold compress on it to dim down the swelling... Scabs are our bodys bandaids... make sure you keep your skin moisterized... dry skin creates breakouts... I am sure your family wont even notices... our own flaws seem bigger then they really are to us... I hope this helped dear... I am a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant... this is a common question...

Yeah, ice works I've tried that before. Also, try using some ointment. And to get red of that zit, use clean and clear or clearasil. Those work very well.
