I was told that all this is some how envolved with bad evil spirits.

Most tarot readers, like myself, don't work with any "spirits" during a reading. Contrary to popular belief, the cards do not "predict the future", rather they force your unconscious mind to interpret symbolism in the artwork on the cards to get better perspective on the current situation at hand. It just makes you think deeper, see things from a differing perspective and helps you make decisions based on a clearer picture of what's going on.

No, tarot readers are not bad people, and we don't work with evil spirits. I understand how you may have gotten that impression though. Often when people don't understand something they become afraid, and jump to the conclusion that anything unexplainable is "evil".

I personally know many tarot readers and they are just like everybody else... human. They each have their own individual belief system about religion. Some tarot readers are Christian, some aren't. Some believe in God, others don't. But no matter what their religious beliefs are, they NEVER call upon evil spirits. In fact most of the readers that I know call upon Jesus, or whoever their "higher power" is for protection before doing a reading.

Tarot is used to help people, not harm them. It's not a scam to get money and it's not a game. It is a technique to help people understand themselves better. Most tarot readers draw upon their intuitive abilites to help them choose and interpret the cards. There are no tricks involved in an honest reading.

Unfortunately, there are con artists out there in the tarot world, just like in other professions and this is very sad. But for every dishonest reader, there are many more who are honest and generous people.

One more thing... about readers who charge for their services. This is a personal choice for each individual reader. Some people believe that tarot should be given freely or "bartered" for some other service. (For example, I give you a tarot reading, you give me a free tune up on my car.)

Other readers do take money, but the honest ones only take what their time is worth. Good readers will put time and effort into a reading. (In my opinion you can't get that from a five minute phone call to one of those tarot numbers you see advertised on the internet!) I personally spend about 3 hours on each reading.

Also, most ethical readers will give free readings from time to time, even if they usually charge. It's considered good karma to give freely and donate one's time and talents.

This is probably way more than you wanted to know! But I want to help dispell the myths about tarot readers in any way I can.

You were told wrong. People want to control others by claiming they are dealing with evil spirits.

I am a tarot reader and i do not work with negative spirits. The cards are just one means of providing insight on situations. What we do with that information is up to us.

I think most tarot card readers are people with really really good intuition. The are able to take a stack of cards and then read you like they know you. I think of them kind of like I think of horoscopes. The difference is that the tarot card reader gets to meet you and see how you react. If they have a good understanding of human behaviour, they people are pretty easy to read, and cards just give them a topic to "read" about. I've done tarot card readings at parties and it is pretty amazing what you can come up with... and even more amazing how if someone believes it they will move mountains to make it come true. Kind of like self fulfilling prophecies. No evil spirits... just human interaction.

No. No spirits involved in reading cards. Though some who do so for money are only out for the money, in my lowly opinion. Being a Pagan, I have used the cards myself and see that it is more about getting your thoughts in line with what you are dealing with at that moment. I certainly don't summon up spirits and there is no "future telling" to the cards. Just something to use to help you get your thoughts inline. Nothing more.

A lot of people list this as divination. Tarot cards are not divining tools. Those who claim they are obviously have no knowledge of such things.

No, tarot readers are not supernatural. The act of playing with the cards gives the reader a chance to get to know you so that they can make educated assumptions about you and your situation. Some people are just really good about reading others emotions than others. The people that have told you this are just ignorant, and you know what they say about ignorant people "it is impossible to defeat and ignorant person in an argument"

i don't believe the playing cards carry any inherent potential in themselves. i believe the playing cards are like a device, the symbols on them help us plug into the collective subconscious, or akashic records, or the better self (in spite of the idea). i have heard this element about evil and spirits too, yet i have been reading 17 years... under no circumstances had any type of expertise of evil or worry. I have widely used a lot of human beings reading longer than that who've under no circumstances had a situation. the purely human beings I have widely used to say "scary issues" occurred are the human beings who a million) believed there replaced into something scary about the tarot already, or 2) determined to dabble and had no theory what they were really doing, or 3) were taught to worry the tarot yet determined to flow for a reading and some fraud positioned on a freak tutor for them. So, I in reality imagine something "scary" that occurred to them replaced into likely psychological.

a tarot reader has a pack of cards with pretty pictures on
they use their intuition ( which we all have ) to make sense of these cards in whatever way they feel represents the person sitting with them
there is no magic or evil or anything weirder than ..... saying what they see
no they are not all fakes and yes some are great readers
but i am sure the devil ( if you wish to believe in him ) has better things to do with his time than work through harmless people trying to give someone hope

Nah... mostly they are people who believe that we can derive information about the future based on our present circumstances. All the readers I know would sooner poke themselves in the eye with a hot poker than commune with anything evil. But bad people exist in all guises...

Good and evil don't really apply. What is ,is all that matters. As for the spirits they might be dark they might be light but no matter they just are and they speak to the person doing the reading through intuition and the themes represented by the cards. But judging from the simpleness of your question you are probably better off to be afraid and leave such things alone.
