I brought my dogs from Germany .
You will need :
1. She has to have the dogs chipped
2.the dogs will After that be inoculated against Rabies
3. Exactly 3 weeks after that the dogs blood has to be taken by an AUTHORISED VET and send to a registered Laboratory
for testing if the dog is immune against Rabies !
If the dog is immune he can travel into England 6 month after that
4. Between 24 - 48 hours before the dogs are allowed onto GB they have to have an by Defra excepted worm and tick treatment.
5. All the above have to be registered in a European Pet-passport
one for each dog with all the above details registered in the right order !
I have travelled with all my dogs frequently in and out of the UK
and I have shaken in my boots more than once even when I knew all was ok ! You are totally at the mercy of the FRENCH
officials .even though I have travelled through the Tunnel loads of times because it is quicker and more frequent I found the check though in Calais ferry easier !
But please please your girlfriend must find a competent vet in Croatia who has experience with ALL that paperwork !
Good luck !

Good news, croatia is a country included in the UK'S pet pass port scheme. This means that if she obtains a pet passport for each of the dogs they can come into the uk without having to be stuck in quarantine for 6 months.
Visit www.defra.gov.uk for more information. The basics mean that the dogs will require rabies vaccinations, a clear bill of health from a listed vet before import, microchipping and a few other requirements. Obtaining a pet passport will take at least 6 months and cost several hundred pounds per dog but over all is cheaper than the 6 month quarantine and far less stressful to her beloved puppies!
So get it started!

contact DEFRA. They will need to go into quarantine for 6 months. However I would question the wisdom of making such a long difficult journey with young puppies. It isn't kind to them and they may be better off left at home. We have lots of dogs in the UK you know, who would be happy to have a nice home.

with living in Croatia, there should be an abundance of 'black market' missiles, rockets and other such ballistics. Simply purchase the afor mentioned ordinance, aim towards the west and hope for favourable winds.
