Haven't seen any studies where low carb diet is good or bad for the heart. But you don't need a low-carb diet. Just be aware of your eating habits and try to consume good carbs which have a lower glycemic index. If you're exercising you definitely need carbs to sustain your workout. Plus the brain pretty much functions on carbs, without them you may get a myriad of symptoms such as lightheadeness, fatigue, headaches, bad-attitude, etc. So read up on the glycemic index and do yourself a favor, don't deprive your body of one of the most important macronuturients.

I would imagine if it were low carb, low fat, low salt and sugar it would be., especially combined with exercise and plenty of water. I remain on this after losing 40kg and am fine. Just make sure your diet is balanced and you are getting sufficient vitamins and minerals.
