the U.S is the country, and people are still dieing from radiation poisoning form the two atom bombs they dropped on civillians, and also in vietnam women and children are being killed in thier thousands from unexploded munitions in the jungle and most of all from the mass amount of agent orange they used.and the other one is present day iraq. lack of medicines, power, clean water are all contributing to thousands of ppl being killed cos of thier actions.

i would say (probably) people are still dieing in every country which has been used as a battle field in the last century.This is basically because weaponary changed, was mass produced and was used relatively (say since ww1 ) indiscriminately. For example-
-in begium the odd farmer still plows up an unexploded bomb/shell from ww1
-mines and discarded(often on return journey)bombs occasionally come up in fishing nets in north sea/atlantic from ww2
-effects from chemical weapons eg agent orange in vietnam
- cluster bomblets (since they have been used/invented)iraq

before ww1 mass shelling and bombing from aircraft didnt happen(on anything like the scale/ not invented)

Even after years of having pulled out there are still Americans in Captivity in Vietnam. There are still Vietnamese who are affected by the Napalm that was dropped.

I suppose you could also count the Japanese from Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

I would also think that out of the medias eye that there are still problems in the Balkans that we don't know about.

Well, as my dinner is almost ready I will tell you what I know and not look anything up. A friend who was stationed along the border between N Kora and S Korea told me that there was still shooting going on in the buffer/DMZ.


He informed me that the foot traffic was one-way for the most part, people escaping the communist side in the north, and that the N Korean military would try to drop them. His words.

Russia . people are still being mamed and killed by the landmines they left in Afghanistan. Also there are some who are still dying from the chemical weapons they used in Afghanistan.
