Dogs are okay, but I like cats better. I have a cat named Tika...and she's very sweet-natured. Dogs are quite a handful for me due to having arthritis, so having a cat is easier for me. It's easier to change a litterbox when needed than walk a dog a few times a day and then keeping them from getting bored...a cat is quite content just with feeding, play, and affection. And of course those catnaps.

I like cats, my neighbor has a little dog and when she comes over for coffee she brings him. my cat and him get along just fine but the dog eats all the stuff out of the litter box. I have wanted to tell the neighbor but don't know how to do it. she lets it lick her face. I like her, and don't want to hurt her feelings.

Dog... and i'll tel you why... a cat does not do anything all day but eat sleep and s*** and on top of that they are usually not very affectionate, you cant teach them ne thing new, you cant walk them, and they get hair all over the place and you gotta clean their litter box, where as a dog you can walk it, they are affectionate, you can teach it new things, it goes to the washroom outsideand they dont lose as much hair as cats, etc.....

I think It depends on your lifestyle.
Do you have enough time to walk a dog every day? [rain or shine]
Do you have children?
Do you own or rent your home? Do you live in a house or apartment? Do you have the time and patience needed to train a dog?

Dogs:
Take up a lot of space
Most apartments do not allow them
Can be noisy some times
Take time to train
[puppies] need to be watched carefully so they don't get into trouble
are /usually/ very friendly

Cats:
Don't take up too much space
some apartments allow them
most don't need to be litter trained
almost all are independent
may destroy furniture if not trained
can live inside [full time]
Or outside
[kittens] need to be watched carefully so they don't get into trouble

Overall I would say a cat if you're not home all day or a dog if you are. Either one is a good choice if your willing to do the homework and it seems you are

Well dogs need lots of attention. You need to groom and wash them, you need to walk them everyday, you can't leave them home without them destroying something, and dogs depend on you 100%.
Cat are better because they can entertain themselves, don't need to be walked everyday, they can wash and groom themselves, they don't need your full attention, can be left at home without destroying something, and are great for cuddles.

So I think cats are way better then dogs

I would say a cat id you are away for a long time, like you work. But dogs are more sociable. They require more attention though.

GOOD LUCK!

I don't dislike cats, but dogs are my preference, and my daughter prefers cats. So we have both.
