I did every thing the recipe called for and yet my sugar cookie dough is runny. What can I do to make it stiffer so I can roll it out?

Try chilling it. The problem is either you didn't add enough flour, most sugar cookies are rolled out then cut with cookie cutters so it's expected to add more flour. The other commom cause is when recipes call for butter and you use margarine (like Parkay or Blue Bonnet). If it says butter, use real butter.

Hey, You can add about a half of a cup more flour to your recipe and make sure your dough is cold and your surface is floured.I also bake mine at 10 degrees less than what the recipe calls for they dont dry out as much and take them out just before they are done they will finish cooking on the pan. A little more info than you asked for but it might come in handy. Happy baking.

a majority of the time you are supposed to refridgerate sugar cookie dough for one to 2 hours. That could be the issue.

chill it at least 30 minutes

if it doesn't firm up, add a couple of tablespoons of flour
