I have a pecan pie that calls for 2 tbs of Burbon. Can I subsutute anything in place of it?

Bourbon is a style of whiskey. Depending on your taste, you could substitute any whisky you might have on hand. You could put a little twist on it and use brandy (can be Cognac or Armagnac if it's on hand). You could als use a nice rich dark rum.

Be careful, though. A common style of gourmet vanilla is "Bourbon Vanilla" Make sure that's not what the recipe calls for before you head off to the liquor cabinet or liquor store. Obviously, if this is what the recipe is calling for, then some other form or vanilla extract would be your substitute of choice.

Southern Comfort? If you have raisins included in the recipe, how about a dark rum?

1 teaspoon vanilla or 2 tbs of rum, brandy, amaretto, any sort of liqueur
