Not aerobic enough and it benefits only a small part of your body

Fidgeting can burn up to 800 calories a day; but it's not aerobic, so couldn't be considered "exercise" per se, although you might get a nicely-developed calf muscle.

Chill out Dude! My Dad does this all the time, he has ptsd, thinks he's still in the army in the band keeping the rythm with his foot!

if you mean tapping your foot,no i don't think so,it seems more a disorder of habit than exercise. now if you were to tape a weight to it,it may be more of a conditioning movement than an exercise.in addition it can be irritating to other people,you may elect to tap away in a dance,now tap dancing looks to me like real exercise.

I dont know if you can call it exercise, but studies have shown that fidgeting like that can burn off a decent amount of calories, but then again so can watching tv.

No, and actually might lead to an overuse injury of the ankle or front shin muscles (tibialis anterior).

no. and you look like an idiot or like you humping something with your leg. i hate that and it was question asked in one of my classes and a professor said it may be cause by a disease if you cant stop.
