If it doesn't improve quick... and is that severe.... see the doctor. There are medications that can help nowadays.
I was hospitalized with my first child many years ago because the vomiting was so bad I started vomiting blood. My stomach lining was damaged from it.
Talk to a doctor and get her some help so she can feel better right away.
Best Wishes,
Sue

It should improve but if she cannot keep anything down she needs to see a doctor. I can remember 32 years ago being terribly sick for months all day long. I was becoming malnourished so had to have some pills from the doctor for a few days. After those I could eat only mashed potatoes and baked beans so just ate as much of that as I wanted. Then I was fine. My commiserations. People don't always understand just how awful some women can feel.

Yea I was really sick for the first 12 weeks but it did get gradually better after that. My sister in law was the same except it lasted for 14 weeks. It is the chemical that keeps the baby in place that makes a lady feel sick (or be sick). After the 12 week stage this chemical subsides and so, so does the sickness. If she is feeling sick it is a good sign that the baby is doing well.
Good luck with pregnancy and baby :)

The general phase for morning sickness is up in the first and third trimester and less in the second. But every pregnancy is different.
To help with the sickness try anything with mint in it. I ate those andes chocolate mints all the time. They really did the trick. Also, invest in Tums. Ginger tea works well too. A cold washcloth on the back of the neck helps too. If it get really bad, ask her Obgyn for some help.

No two pregnancies are the same. I was sick ALL the way through mine, and the last 2 months were the worst!
However, I know women who have had NO sickness, and others who were sick just for the first trimester, which is more usual.
If it continues, she should speak to her midwife, as she will be lacking vital vitamins, which the baby will need to grow properly - they'll probably give her a tonic or something.

Depends on her body. Morning sickness, which is so ill described, can last any amount of time. It may or may not. I had mine for 3 months straight, some have it the entire 9 months, some only a few weeks. Good luck :)

If her morning sickness is really bad that she can not keep anything down you should go to the doctor. Here are some thing that helped me get over my morning sickness:
Eat a few Ginger Snap Cookies before getting out of bed.(This will sooth her stomach)
Get a few peppermint candies for her to suck on to help settle the sick feeling.
Drinking warm lemon tea and having a piece of toast with no butter.
Hope these help out,And congrates on your baby!

How awful!!
I would say it should, but unfortunately, everyone is different!!
You should call the OB and have him prescribe Zofran. They also use Phenergan, but phenergan makes some people Sooooooo sleepy. Zofran doesn't, and they even have disintegrating tablets to put on the tongue. It works fast, and is safe for pregnancy. I was on it for about 5 months. They use it a lot for cancer patients that are under chemo. So, it works!!!
If you don't want meds, stick to crackers and the good ol bland diet and tough it out!! But you should really have her try the Zofran if she can't keep anything down.!

It SHOULD (hense the word SHOULD) but some women are severely sick through out there whole pregnancy, but most goes away bu the 14th week or the 2nd trimester.
(sometimes SEVERE sickness could be a sign of multipul babies... :~)!)
Either way
Good Luck

God Bless

Maybe, Maybe .... but ... from the moment I fell pregnant with my daughter until the time I had her.... I was sick and goodness knows why they call it morning sickness. So be nice to her she just might need some extra caring. But the second time round if it is any consolation I was carrying a boy and I wasn't sick once - so I guess it's luck of the draw.
