I imagine that the eggs are too big for selling in large quanity like a chicken eggs which would not be cost effect for a super market chain.
You might look for a turkey farm and see if they do sell some of the eggs. Out here we have ostrich eggs for sale and they are HUGE!

Most turkeys are very seasonal layers (laying only in the spring), so there is undoubtedly a short supply. I lived on a farm for many years, and yes, we did use turkey eggs, but mainly for baking. They have a stronger flavor than a regular chicken egg, and I personally did not find them appealing when fixed in the "normal" breakfast-y way.

Because they don't sell them.
It is not illegal.
There is a store near me that can get turkey eggs, duck eggs, goose eggs or quail eggs if you order them. We used to use quite a few quail eggs (very small), boiled, peeled and pickled. My daughter used to bring home the birds that were hatched as class projects in her school as nobody else wanted them. We ate the cockerels and kept the hens for the eggs.
Turkey eggs are quite large, and you might not like the fact that they do have flavor unlike mass-produced chicken eggs which are as close as you can get to factory made, the hen is just a formality.

Turkeys have a short laying season and the greatest value is derived by hatching them for your Christmas dinner! Find someone local to you who keeps Turkeys and see if they will sell you some.(Not at this time of year- usually March-August I think)
