Is not that they don't want to make the first move it's just that they might not be interested in them at that time and you know, they might have other things in mind... but if you're talking about guy.. let's say.. in the eight grade.. it's a whole different story..
guys at that age.. you know.. might be too shy.. and that is completely normal, but if you talk about.. not taking the first move.. rather let the girl take the first move.. well.. let's just say... they have no balls.. hahaha..
it's true... guy that doesn't have the balls to ask a girl out.. really.. is a coward.. and you know.. for girls.. when they see that.. i don't think they like it.. but some girls.. can't see that, so they end up making the first move.. making it easier on the guys to get a g/f.. and thus.. not having to face heartbreak in case the girl that the guy likes.. doesn't like him... that simple..
there's really no answer to this, but that is just what I think...
and you know... the times do change.. and it might be the time when girls, start taking initiative.. which will be good in the future for when, making injustices are going on that whatever time in the future...
that's a good thing...

I agree. I think it's becoming more and more "normal." I think it is a lack of self esteem on their end. Guys are guys but it doesn't make them men, if you know what I mean. I have no problem making the first move, nor should you. Some guys don't like it, but then again, those are the types of guys you want to stay away from any way. If you like a guy - go for it. You only have lots to gain! Plus, guys dig chicks with guts!

I don't think either gender asking should be considered normal. I have asked guys out and been asked out by guys. I think that it works both ways. If you are interested, why wait for him to make the first move? Men aren't considered as dominate anymore and that means in all areas, even dating. So embrace your equal rights, girl!

guys are wimps these days. it's a sign of the times. but some guys still put themselves out there. wait for one of those guys. why do you want a wimp around? plus, if they never make a move, they have no problem turning around and saying "well you were the one that wnated the relationship not me" when they break up with you, over email because they are spineless. find a real man!!!

I think it's become the norm because there are so many girls who throw themselves at guys - one drawback to the feminist era. I think that by becoming the stronger sex (I'm all for feminism mind you) we've given men the excuse to sit back and enjoy. There seems to be a real lack of effort on men's part when it comes to romance.

Think about it....Sexual harassment, stalking as currently defined....
Some guys just wait to see if the girl makes the move, then they know she is interested and aren't worried about either of the above...
I, however do not suffer from this malady

Making the first move...hm sounds like a good Western flick, I'll draw first on the count of ten.
I'll say this, sex unseen from the clothes is admiration at its' fullest and when it is complete...it's nothing and dies.
