Yes, I have a dog.
She's a husky mix that wandered up to my porch a few months ago, I couldn't find her owners, so I kept her.
I kept her because she was sick, and I thought the pound would euthanize her instead of putting her up for adoption. After a month or two of care, she is doing wonderfully!
I like her because she is the least trouble of any dog I have owned. She is sweet, doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body, and even responds appropriately to other dogs.
I like to think I take good care of my dog, but I could be taking better care of her. She eats a very high quality dog food, gets fresh water every day, has lots of toys to play with, but she does spend a lot of time outside, especially when I work 24 hour shifts.
She's not on heartworm preventative, but I'm getting her tested and put on preventative as soon as I move into my new house.
I'd like to take better care of her; and I'm definitely going to once I move into the new house.
Her name is Denali.
I'm going to keep her forever. I think it's stupid to acquire a dog and not plan on keeping her forever. Dogs don't do well when they constantly change owners.
Hope this helps!

I have five. One is named Chelsea. She's a female Yorkie. Number 2 is named Buster. He's a male Beagle. Number 3 is named Dusty. He's a German Shorthair. Number 4 is Bingo. He's an Australian Kelpie. Number 5 is named Charmin. She's a female Lhasa Apso. I do take care of them all very well. I can't keep them forever. Dogs have got to move on and live in the sky.

Right now I only have three dogs, which is the least I have had in many many many years. I have kept all my dogs till their death and I have an extensive pet grave yard in my back yard.

I have had over 15 or 20 dogs in my lifetime. At times I have had as many as 12 at one time. But I have tried to keep it down due county ordinances that limit you to only 5.

Most of my dogs have been rescued or adopted but I have also had some pure breeds. I enjoy watching their behavior when in a pack, who leads and who follows, who is dominant and who is submissive, who will play with who and who does not tolerate any frisky play. I like to watch them pick on each other or how they play together.

I love the fact that their love for you is unconditional. I just can't image my world being without at least two.

To me my dogs are an extension to my household with me being the head of the pack.

I have tried breeding and selling but that just broke my heart cause I just couldn't let those sweet, little things go somewhere I don't know how they are living and I don't trust that everyone has the same love for their pets as I do for mine. Most people do not understand their companions and are not treated as they should.

I hope this warms your heart for I truly love my dogs.

I have 2 dogs :) they are both a mix of random breeds. One is a cross between a blue cattle and some sort of large yellow dog (which could have possibly been part golden retriever) who we adopted when he was a puppy because he was an accident and needed a home. This was also the case with my other dog, I'm not sure what she is but she's small, with short brown fur, and she's skinny with long legs for her size. They're both beautiful dogs who would have been sent to the pound, and now luckily all the parents involved are desexed so they can't produce more unwanted puppies.

The boy is called Defa and the girl is called Turbo. I'm going to keep them for their whole lives because we are their pack and they're part of our home and it's just so nice to come home and for them to come up and look at me and want a pat and yeh... hehe.. it's fun talking about my pets :)

Plus they do heaps funny things... like we took Defa to the vet and after he was done we were trying to get him back into the car. But he thought we were trying to pat him and rolled over to have his tummy rubbed. He's a big dog and he thought it was all one big game and was being all floppy and impossibly to pick up so we just couldn't get him back into the car! Some random guy stopped and helped us lift him and was really worried that he was lethargic cause he was sick. It took us a while to reassure him this big old dog who we had to struggle to get into the car was just trying to get a belly rub... Dogs are wonderful :)

I have a Pit Bull and his name is Frances. Yes I am going to keep him forever. He is my BABY. Why did I get him? Well I had been thinking about getting a dog and he needed a home. Ever since then Pits have become my breed. I now want to educate as many people as possible and open a rescue shelter for Pits. Pit Bulls are the number 1 abused dog in America. They need our love, and I have lots of love to give. Yes I take good care of my dog. He is well socialized and loves to play and is such a snuggle bunny.

I got two dogs, Alice & Ralph ^_^
Alice is 6 years old, and Ralph is just one year younger than her. Uh...They are pugs, and very cute (to me, anyway :P)
My family bought them because we all thought we needed good family pets, and God sent us them.
Ralph is actually deformed, his eyes are the size of golf balls, and one is a little bit bigger than the other. He has a longer body and tail than the normal pug does, and his coloring is off a little; his body has a orange hue to it, and his ear color is a dark brown instead of black. We adopted him when he was about three months old; he may have been abused before he was put into the pound, because he is a very giddy and nervous personality...but he's loveable and hugable ^_^
Alice is the complete counterpart of him, she is calm and collected. And lazy :P. She is not deformed like Ralph. And she has a wonderful sense of humor (Yeah, dogs can have a sense of humor, too). But she's sooo stubborn! You sometimes need to call or get her just for her to come to you. But I love Ralph a little better because he's more like me. No, I'm not deformed! We shared same personalities.

I'm keeping them for forever....Even when I'm in Heaven, I'll always have them by my side for ever....

Yes, I have a very loving, intellegent, sweet hybrid baby. She is chow/wolf, she is all black, so I named her Ebony Star. Ebby is almost 7 years old now. She is a great protector, friend and companion. We eat together, play and sleep together. Where you see me you will see Ebby. We are inseperable. I did not buy her, I found her in the wildlife reserve where I live in Ky and she is so spoiled rotten now it is unbelievable. My girl gets groomed every month or at least every 6 weeks, gets the best of food, goes to the vet twice a year for checkups and she has more toys than a 3 year old kid. Oh yeah, she loves to wear her scarves and necklaces and bows in her hair too.

Well, I have 7 dogs. Some we bought because we liked them and others we took because people didnt want them or couldnt take care of them. We, my family, have a lab, an American Eskimo, 2 cocker spaniels, 1 beagal, and 2 mixed dogs. We will keep them "forever"...the names of our dogs are Ecko (the american eskimo) Adia and Gage (cocker spaniels), Sequoia (lab), Shilo and Lady (mixed dogs) and Ethica (begal). We take very good care of our dogs (along with our other animals)

I love my dog because he is a faithful, loyal companion, he is also extremely smart too. I purchased my dog on a recommendation from someone else. I take extremely good care of him. He is called a Border Collie and his name is Dakota. He is 10 years old and I would never part with him.
