Treat others as you would have them treat you. Be a good person. Help others. Do the right thing. No need to believe in or have to prove the existance of imaginary beings or have ridiculous dietary rules. Yes?

There is no contradiction in believing that JC was a good man who tried to teach others how to be good without having to believe that he was some kind of "god". It's just my opinion that people who need to believe in a "god" to make them behave or be nice or face the fact of their existance, have my pity.

That is what I believe but I am just agnostic-atheist. The term 'christian' has nothing to do with being a good person or the decisions you make in life.

I don't agree with the "Christian" part...However, I don't rape, molest kids, still purses from elderly ladies(or anyone for that matter), never killed anyone, etc. I'm a soldier, and a mother who believes in the family life, helping others, teaching my daughter manners and to be a well rounded lady, and fighting for what is right.
Religion is a belief. Not, proven, just something for some people to lay their heads with the hope of something better. I do not believe in the bible or that Jesus died for our sins...so does this make me a bad person....you can't cast me to hell though...because I don't believe in it.
I have a ?? though..."IF" years after people were on the earth, GOD decided that the "toll" to get into heaven was Jesus crusifiction "to wash away our sins"....what happened to the people who died before Jesus was killed?...Just curious

Isn't treating others as you would have them treat you big part of being a good human being. God is not imaginary infact he is real to alot of people and you or I have no right to judge anyone because of that. You either believe that God created this world or not!
Do you even know what Atheism means???

That wouldn't be "Christian" atheism, technically. To be "Christian" means to have a belief in Christ.
Besides that, yes, you are right. You need no religion at all to be a decent person. Some religions are based on that principle, such as Buddhism and Confucionism. There is no "God" in either.

most atheist DO NOT believe in the bible or the teachings in it. its sad that anyone who is a atheist would even claim to be christian. christo-anything is a oxymoron i hope that some one would smack them up side the head. and what you where talking about relates to humanism which has nothing to do with christianity. christianity should be a stand alone religion since it insults all other non christian beliefs if you mix it with them.

That is the gist of western secularism. It has a shell of Christian morality with the metaphysics rationalist materialism. That why we still use buzzwords like "human rights" and "inherent dignity" etc. They are ghost-phrases from an previous era, still in circulation while more advanced atheist philosophers and ethicists believe them false (e.g. Richard Rorty, Peter Singer at Princeton).

Christian Atheism is an oxymoron. Christianity is not the sole owner of morality, if anything those that are not religious are more moral than those that are. I don't need the fear of eternal damnation to not kill and steal, apparently some people do, and for those people religion is a must.

Bishop Fulton Sheen put it best, when he states the folly of believing in the brotherhood of man without the fatherhood of God.
