If you are in the Army then yes they can. The child has to be supported with Army money and your commanding officer can order you to take the test.

If you are not a member of the military, the military has no jurisdiction over you. They would have to go to a civilian court to get the order for a paternity test. I can't imagine why you would not want the father to be on the birth certificate but that is between you and the father. The military will not have a reason to get involved in this situation at all unless someone complains. I believe the complaint would have to come from you or the father.

The military cannot force you to get a paternity test for your child. The military generally has no authority to issue orders to military dependents.
A paternity test requires a biological sample from the child, the mother, and the father. The military can only order the servicemember to submit to the test.
Is the father in the military or are you? What branch? Each branch has a different order dealing with child and spousal support. (Navy-1740.30 of the Milpersman, Marine Corps Chapter 15 of the LegalAdmin Manual)

If you are in the military, then you could be ordered to have the test done. Same with the father.
Unless there is some issue that would cause the commanding officer to order for such a test, I would think the military would stay out of it.

If you petition the military to have the father's pay garnished for child support and he denies paternity, then it is a possibility.

I know the military can force a man to pay child support. If you are in the military, they might be able to make YOU, but if the father is not in the military, they can't compel him (unless you want benefits for the child and parentage is important).

Yes, if he wants the child put on his DEERS paper.
In other words, if your boyfriend is planning to provide health care, receive BAH, etc. for the child, YES, the military will make him have a blood test in order to do so.

I can't believe the father doesn't want to know his child but I know it happens all the time, however if he changes his mind and he can he still will have rights.
also if something happens and you have to use the social programs you will have to name the father of your child and they will look for him because he is legally bound to pay support, whether you want him to or not. Unless someone else adopts your child.

Well,
I suppose you are giving up the kid for adoption. Then who cares, unless your planning on keeing the baby with no father.
Then who cares about the military -- giving a kid a life with no dad is conduct unbecoming in my book.
