I have a 9 1/2lb bone-in ready to cook ham. I was told that I could slow cook it so it's very moist and tender.

I have no idea what to set the temp on,
do I have to cover it?
How long to I cook it?
when do I glaze it?

YES cover it or the steam will escape... the steam is what makes it tender.

If it's totally raw, I'd cook it about 9-10 hours. So start late tonight for lunch tomorrow!

I'd glaze it right when you take it out of the crockpot. You coudl galze it then run it in the oven, under the broiler for a few minutes to brown the glaze. Try thsi recipe for glaze!

Best Glazed Ham

1 (10 lb.) cured ham, bone-in

Glaze:
1½ c. brown sugar
3 tsp. spicy brown honey mustard
1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
4 dashes Tabasco
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 Tbsp. fresh sliced ginger
hand full of cloves

Soak ham in water for 2-3 hours changing water every 45 minutes. Pat dry. Place ham cut side down in large roasting pan. Score ham in X’s w/ sharp knife, and place whole cloves in scored corners. Place all glaze ingredients into blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Gently and slowly pour glaze over ham, making sure it is totally glazed. Bake 4 hours at 300ºF.. Tent with foil if browning too quickly during last hour. Serve with warm rolls.

Please do not cook it for 9-10 hours like the other poster said, It will be dry and shrivled like a prune. A ham is already smoked and can not be raw. If you have a fresh ham then it is raw, but you said ready to cook and that usually means it is smoked. Cover the ham in a thick layer of foil and put it in a pan fat side up and cook at 350 degrees for about 3 hours and take it out and look at it. The bone should be loose and easy to move around when it is done. There should be a lot of fat juice in the foil, so just throw it away and now glaze the ham if you want to. You do not have to glaze unless you like a sweet ham. If so, use some brown sugar and just pat it on the outside of the ham and you can also add some pineapple slices if you like them. Stick them to the ham with toothpicks. Now return the ham to the oven without any covering and cook for about 30 minutes or until the sugar is melted and the pineapple is browned. Cool and slice and enjoy.

boneless hams are generally processed from ham that is chipped off the boned variety and shaped into a loaf shape. The best tasting hams are the bone in ones. You bake it as directed, then remove it from the bone. Freeze the bone for making soup later. (it's awesome) You can make many meals off the bone in ham. Try a half ham spiral sliced. Also, the pigskin on the ham is pretty good for flavor. Just peel it off after cooking. (now you know why a football is sometimes called a pigskin) You just can't go wrong with a bone in ham.
