My mom wants me to find a crib for my little 1 year old sister because the one she has right now is the one she is in almost all day except when we play with her or feed her. It looks like she is in jail! She cries because she is bored but if we put toys in, it becomes way too crowded! Is there such a crib/playpen thing that is about the size of a twin bed but with bars so she cant get out or bigger? Links appreciated! Also, if you don't have links, can you at least tell me what its called?

FOr those who think we keep her in jail, your wrong! Of course we play with her! What she is in now is a play-n-pack by graco, but the reason we cant let her alone is because our house is practically MADE for injuring kids! There are so many decorations and my sister is the curious type. I was just wondering because I have 2 more sibs and I was wondering if there was some way to get like a mini 'fence' so she doesnt bump into that kinda stuff, especially when people are cooking!

You're such a good sister! Don't worry..we don't think you're keeping your sister in jail! I have a 16 month old and she gets into EVERYTHING and it's really difficult when I'm trying to cook dinner or something. You only have her well being in mind and nobody will judge you for that!
It's going to be very difficult to find something that will contain your little sis because she's most likely walking or trying to and once a baby is mobile it's hard to get them to stay still. They're too big to keep in a bouncy chair or swing but still too little to let them roam around.
But yes--there is a corral. Target sells it. I've been thinking about buying one myself but you'll need some room for it. That's probably the best option. You can buy extender pieces to make more room inside there. Then she'd have room to move about but will stay safe too.
I'll put the link below.
Good luck on finding something

A play pen or crib is meant for:
-sleeping
- a place to leave the child for short periods while you are cooking, doing chores, etc
the truth it, the child should not be spending more then a few short hours a day in there and should be free the rest of the time. Using decor or the house as an excuse is pathetic! There is a baby in the house!!! Pack up the ornaments, block of the stairs, latch the cabinets and let the poor thing out!
No, they don't make beds bigger then a crib that will keep a child in - because a good parent wouldn't need anything bigger then a crib since it's not ment to be a living space!

i am actually really hoping that you are just bored and need some attention.
cribs are for sleeping and nothing else. many other options for restricting a child while you are ...say....checking the oven, showering, talking on the phone, but these times of confinement are for the childs safety, not for yours or mom's 'free' time. and definately Not all day?????
Do yourself a favour and dont get a playpen either. Your sister is NOT A DOG!! that needs a bigger confined space to play.
that is neglect and abuse and could (hopefully will) have that poor child taken away from such a nasty , neglectfull, negative environment. How will she ever learn anything????Or is that how she raised you and why you feel the need to ask such ignorant questions? no offence intended.
Your question almost says it all that ..your 'mom' wants 'you' to find a crib....come on!! you must be joking. Who is the mother here?????
if you are not then you are not of age for this site and if you are then you need to use your head and do the right thing. The child needs proper care and attention which she is not getting obviously. report your mom or soon you will be reported as an accomplice like stated previously.

Wow, I don't knw if there is such a thing. Cribs aren't made to keep the kid locked up day and night. Of course they are going try to climb out of the crib, that's what kids do. If the child is too much underfoot for her, maybe she should look into daycare instead of a 'jail'.

First, is the mattress decreased so far because it could flow? looks like a no-brainer, yet you by no capacity be conscious of. The crib tents look to artwork the way they are meant to in case you examine the client comments, yet apparently they are fantastically particular as to which cribs they'll extra wholesome on, and there are a number of proceedings approximately them falling aside and not being nicely made adequate to warrant the cost tag. Does the crib have right now rails or carved? in case you have carved mattress rails and she or he's mountaineering up the rails you would be able to attempt switching her to sound asleep in a playpen. The mesh facets are extra good for them to get a grip for mountaineering. in case you want to depart her interior the crib, save her in footie sleepers at bedtime to maintain her from being waiting to grip along with her feet. If now not something looks to maintain her in her crib, you could the two change her to a infant mattress, or placed her crib mattress on the floor. as long as you empty out her room it particularly is now not a huge deal as long as you infant information the shops and stuff. in case you do flow with a infant mattress, placed money into between the entire length rails and push it up against the wall. that's plenty extra effective to have her wandering around interior the confines of her mattress room than to danger having her fall incorrect the subsequent time she climbs out.

why would you be looking for something like this, your sister is a 1 year old kid why don't you guys just let her play or roam around the house take her to a prk, library etc.she's not an animal who would be locked up in a crib all day long to make your search more easy honey, THERE ARE NO SUCH THINGS FOR A 1YEAR OLD.

OK I have a larger playpen for you, but seriously my baby only goes in there when I have to go out of the room or for 15-30 minutes if he won't leave something alone (like the cable attached to the TV)
But really you need to at least somewhat childproof a room so she can roam around.
This is 38" x 38" and is one of the biggest playpens out there:

sounds like mom wants a minature jail for your sister. Thats awful. they have the big circular gates at toys r us she can try one of those. I wouldnt be telling any of my friends or neighbors that your mom keeps a one year old in a crib all the time or child services will be at your door.

What?? No anything bigger than a crib would be called a cage! Why have kids if you don't want to deal with them? Tell your mom she should give her baby to someone who will take care of her.
