we broke up in college (i busted her cheating on me, and showed her the door). she recently died in LA in a car wreck. her memorial is next monday, 11/27. i don't feel obligated, but some friends think "it would be nice if i showed up" because she carried the torch for me to the bitter (for her, not me) end.

what do you folks thing? do you attend the funeral of a babe who broke my heart?

Going to the funeral is a sign of respect to the departed. Her family and loved ones need all the spiritual support that they can get. You did love her once.Release the pain and join them to celebrate her life. Respect her in death.

If you cared for the girl and you 2 shared good times (even though the whole cheating bit plays in somewhere) I think you should go and pay your respects to someone that you were intimate with. True, you don't go to funerals of one nighters and stuff but if this girl mean anything to you and you have nice memories of this chick-go.

I think you should show up - as we would say in Croatia that would be "in place" or the right thing to do. First it doesn't really cost you, only your time and that you can always spare for a late person. Secondly, that's the best way of saying goodbye and close one, I presume, painful chapter of your life - you will most probably feel better afterwards, and your conscious is clear.

That music is spectacular and that i'm very sorry approximately what you're dealing with. That music could definately be ideal for the funeral simply by fact it has a sentimental reason. The funeral is meant to be all approximately her, and having her widespread music enjoying could be large. i don't be attentive to your mom, yet she could in all probability be happy to be attentive to you have been thinking basically approximately her and remembered her widespread music. as quickly as lower back, i'm relatively sorry for what you're dealing with desirable now.

It's ultimately up to you, but since you're asking for advice, I'd say to go.
I'm still not over my ex (he cheated on me...), so if I died, I would want him to come to my funeral.
Let her soul rest in peace with a last small goodbye. Give her closure.

I mean is the fact that she cheated the reason you are doubting whether or not you show up at her funeral, maybe it can be theraputical, go, bury the heartache along with her, let it go.

If this is serious, it depends on whether she had a new fella, my fella was killed in a similar way a few weeks ago and one of his exes turned up at the funeral and i wanted to kill her for her cheek, maybe that just me tho! lol

I would definitely go and pay my respects. I know what it is like to be cheated on but if my ex died I would definitely go to his funeral.
