There was an interesting case of much ado about nothing recently with a school that was going to serve halal chicken rather than turkey for Christmas dinner (they eventually decided to have the chicken, the turkey, and the vegetarian option). I'm in a Christian society at a university that is having its Christmas meal soon and we discussed whether to invite the Muslim society, since we're trying to make interfaith links.
I know shockingly little about Islam, and it suddenly occurs to me that I've no idea how or if the average Muslim celebrates Christmas. It's become so secular that it doesn't really show its pagan roots any more, let alone Christian ones.
Obviously, Muslims are a diverse bunch but I'd really like to know what some of you think! What do you think of Christmas? Do you celebrate it, and if so, how?

I converted to Islam, so I still go to my family's house for Christmas, just to see relitives I don't normally get to see. Muslims don't celebrate Christmas, we beleive in Jesus, but not as Christians do. To Muslims, Jesus was a prophet, but not a god or son of God.
Here are some good websites if you want to learn more about Islam.

I don't partake in Christmas what so ever, wouldn't even go if invited to a dinner, or exchange gifts. I don't celebrate it what so ever, I even refused to sing in my chorus Christmas celebration at my private college. I distance myself from Christmas and Easter as much as I can. But I do celebrate America Traditions like Thanksgiving. But I respect Christians and am not offended if they try to be good Christians. Muslims will not be offended, but Muslims like me will just explain to you nicely and not come.

Muslims do not think anything about Christmas, neither should Christians. The concept is not found anywhere in The Bible. Jesus did not practice it, instruct on it, or even mentioned it. Early Christians did not practice it. Obviously it has no relevance in the religion.

Muslims believe Jesus was born of a virgin. They just don't believe Jesus is the Son of God or that He died on the cross for remission of our sins, or that He raised from the dead. So they are antichrist.
But, they might be OK with Christmas, since they believe in the virgin birth. I am not sure if they believe Jesus is the Promised Messiah. Christ is Greek for Messiah.
I think of Christmas as Gods gift to us, Emanuel, God with us. It is a time of giving since the days are shorter & colder. It is a time of family gathering. I love Christmas.
We just get together as family and open presents. Also, remember Gods gift to us.

We don't celebrate it as Muslims, but we don't mind sharing the event if invited by our neighbors or friends.
For T_a_m_i_l
We also believe that Jesus (pbuh) is the messiah, ad we call him the Messiah Isa son of Mary.
