Everyone loves these, and they are so cute! Use the thinnest sliced bacon you can find (not slab bacon).

There is a very simple recipe for banana bread that everyone in my family loves!
1 cup granulated sugar
8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
2 large eggs
3 ripe bananas
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Butter a 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.
Cream the sugar and butter in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
In a small bowl, mash the bananas with a fork. Mix in the milk and cinnamon. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Add the banana mixture to the creamed mixture and stir until combined. Add dry ingredients, mixing just until flour disappears.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Set aside to cool on a rack for 15 minutes. Remove bread from pan, invert onto rack and cool completely before slicing.

I'm a from scratch, long time cook, but there are some really good shortcuts (believe me I do them with a last minute invite or I'm just dang tired!) Dessert is always good---do a box cheesecake and put pie filling on top (quick and easy). I discovered a Betty Crocker boxed sweet potatoe casserole which is really good!!! It has the crunchy pecan topping and everything! If you can afford it--buy some shrimp and bottled seafood sauce for an appetizer (a pretty glass plate for the shrimps and a glass bowl for the sauce).

You coudl try a trifle, which if you don't know is a dessert made of layers of cake layers of berries and a layer of some kind of filling. Its really easy its as simple as cutting up berries and making a boxed cake and it looks really good so it should impress everyone. Its usually made with pound cake but you could use white cake or angel food, and strawberries and raspberries and blackberries. Heres an example http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Raspberry-Trifle/Detail.aspx
