Fine the employers and the jobs will dry up for illegals. No jobs, no illegals. But this will not happen as it would solve the problem, and as you can see, nobody in power is interested in solving it. Instead, they allow passions to be stirred, and try to distract the public with fictions like a border fence, etc. It is time for the public to realize that some powerful people have friends, like Tyson Foods, profitting from taking jobs away from Americans and giving them to people who will do the work for less than the minimum wage, without any benefits - in effect, slave labor. Why would anyone who loves this country, wish an outcome like this?

Even after you ask for no idiotic answers you still get them. First you need to ask yourself, why has it been so easy for Illegal people to come here in the first place and why has the government always looked the other way? My opinion is that the government has been in bed with big business. Big business doesn't want to pay min wage and they will go oversees, as they already have in some cases. So I am sure there was some kind of backroom deal with the government to look the other way. Also, I have put links below of the need for immigration to help our economy, and this is from the former Federal Reserve Chair. I am guessing that the purpose of looking the other way, is so that big business can pay what they please.
Next, the idea of deporting people is crazy, since it would take massive efforts, time and money just to round people up and start deporting them. Probably close to a billion dollars in hiring people and lawyers and transportation.
From my perspective, since we do need immigrants to kick start our economy.
First, there does need be better ways to keep illegals out and simultaneously, the legal immigration process needs to be changed, people seem to think that its as easy to get a drivers license to get into this country, but its not.
Second, the poeple here should be given temporary residency, which should include being given a temp Social Security, which would allow for drivers license and work. But during that time they should be monitored and be deported if they commit a crime, or go on welfare. The temp status should be dependant on each person. Work, School, etc. If the people here have already commited crimes, then they should be deported. We pretty much need to beef up our monitoring and borders. And there should be incentives for people that go to school.

Good question. Here goes.
First off, we have to control the border. I hate to even say that, but the one fact that is abundantly clear is that Mexico will make no effort to deter people crossing illegally into this country. If we are ever to get a handle on this issue, it has to happen from our side. If that means a wall and border patrols spanning 2000 miles, then so be it, at least for a while. Hopefully, with the pressure relief valve shut off, Mexico will begin to sort itself out.
Then, start with a set timeline. Everyone who is in this country illegally has to come forward within, say, a six-month window of time, and register for a work visa. With registration, they automatically can apply to begin the citizenship process. If their background checks out for citizenship, their visa will be extended until they complete the citizenship process. No fast track, no preferential treatment, just being allowed to stay as long as the process takes, if that is what they choose to do.
There will be many people who will not want to register. After the six-month window has closed, anyone caught in the country illegally gets deported. No exceptions. And, if they are deported, and try to return illegally again, they become ineligible for either a work visa or citizenship, ever.
And, NO ANCHOR BABIES. Women who have given birth while here illegally should have to undertake the same process as everyone else. If they choose not to apply, they should be sent home just like everyone else. Using one's ability to reproduce in that fashion is criminal in and of itself, in my opinion, and should certainly not entitle a woman to stay when others are required to leave. If necessary, women who have American-born children can be offered adoption as a way to let their child stay in this country, if they choose not to stay themselves, or are ineligible to do so because of a criminal background.
Some deportation will be necessary; I don't see any way to avoid that, but certainly it can be minimized to a degree. I feel very strongly that the criminal element that is funnelled up to the US via Mexico, particularly those involved in drug smuggling operations, can be also be significantly reduced by such measures as I've described. It will take time, perhaps even a number of years. This conundrum has been many decades in the making, we're not going to get it all resolved quickly.

I Think We Should Relaunch Operation Wet*back Immediately
The operation began in California and Arizona
and coordinated 1,075 Border Patrol agents
along with state and local law enforcement agencies
to mount an aggressive crackdown,
going as far as police sweeps
of Mexican-American neighborhoods
and random stops and ID checks of "Mexican-looking" people
Some 750 agents targeted agricultural areas
with a goal of 1,000 apprehensions a day.
By the end of July,
over 50,000 ILLEGAL ALIENS were caught in the two states.
488,000 people fled the country for fear of being apprehended.
By September,
80,000 had been taken into custody in Texas,
INS estimates
that 500,000 to 700,000 ILLEGAL ALIENS
had left Texas voluntarily.
To discourage reentry,
buses and trains took many ILLEGAL ALIENS
deep within Mexico before setting them free.
Tens of thousands more were put aboard two hired ships,
the Emancipation and the Mercurio.
The ships ferried the ILLEGAL ALIENS from Port Isabel, Texas,
to Veracruz, Mexico,
more than 800 kilometers (500 miles) south.

Well actually the MOST cost effective way is to deport them, plain and simple. There have been countless studies done as to the costs of illegal immigration. The drain on social services is in the billions. Dianne Feinstein in her address before congress stated that there were 3 million people waiting outside the US waiting to LEGALLY immigrate. She estimated that it would take 3 years to process them. How long do you think it is going to take to process 30 million here illegally?
It is the pro-illegal faction that is spouting the "it is impossible to deport them" theory. They are hoping that people will take them at their word and not use their heads.
In terms of man hours and social services saved, it is by far faster and cheaper to put them on the next stage out of town.

Arrest the employer no bond speedy conviction seize their assets long prison terms and auction off their property! Then when no one hires the unwanted they go back to where they came from on their own! Stop immigration we have to many people not enough jobs! One pay check feeds three mouths now with posted incomes VS our population straight division etc! Economy is great for those at the top and just the opposite for the bottom half.

And why isn't it going to happen? It happened in the fifties ... it can happen again ... build a great big fence, and start rounding up the illegals on this side of the border ... absolutely no reason in this world why it couldn't be done ....
Punish companies who hire them, and follow the examples of those cities who have already brought in ordnances against illegal activity, repeal the 14th ... a bit of resolution and considerably less political correctness could solve this problem in no time ... what's lacking is political will ...

Close the borders (at Canada and Mexico)
Deport ALL illegals (even OTM's)
Eisenhower did it in the case of illegals from Mexico. Bring back "Operation W-e-t-ba-ck". It CAN be done over several years and would be WELL worth the cost. **They have to be mentioned exclusively since they ARE the majority of illegal aliens.
Take away their incentives:
.....don't hire them
.... don't house them
.....don't give them welfare
.....no free or low cost medical care
Reduce the numbers of ALL immigrants (legal AND illegal)

What do you consider illegal immigration? Does that include Europeans? People from Poland, Canada?, Italy? or Just do you mean Mexico? What if they have been here for 5 years, 10 years 20 years? Its just where I come from, I probably have many people from Poland that are illegal. Where do you want to draw the line?
