katarina- Sounds like she would be a really pretty, graceful girl. Also has lots of options for nicknames, Kat, Kathy, Trina, Rina so that way you could make the nickname fit the personality. Besides, I just like the name...

number 1. too much like a snack food (doritos)
number 2. isn't that a pasta or some kind of polish dance?
number 3. Nickname will lead to teasing from all the Jamaican kids....hey Mon, whatcha' doin' ere?
number 4. Katarina Witt, despite the alcoholism, a graceful and beautiful name and image of beauty. Kat is a great nickname as well.
Number 4 Katarina is the winner.

4) Katarina. Not because it is your name (I didn't even notice that until a moment ago) but because it seems the most melodic of these names. The four syllabels in 1 & 4 trump the 3 syllabels in 2 & 3. I don't like the rhyme of the first 2 syllabels of 1 (a-a-b-c). In 4 Ka and Ta sounds more like "Ka-Tuh" when I think of it...mix the third syllabel up, then conclude with a rhyme of syllabel 2 (abcb).

2) Raluca - I like it because it is origional. Katarina is too similar to hurrican Katrina. Monika is nice, but also populat. Doroteja may be too hard for others to pronounce, causing problems in the future.

I like the name MONICA
The reason is that, back in 1974/75 when I was working in Sylhet Pulp & Paper Mill (SPPM) at Chhatak. The mill's erection team was Klockner Voest Konsortium (KVK) an Austro-German project.
The lady named MONICA looking after logistics supply of food and amenity materials for the 100+ people of European origin was so graceful and modest lady that I never found another in my foreign visits in more than 10 countries, all over the world.
But again, the Bill Clinton - Monica L episode eroded my fascination with this revered name of Monica a bit. However, with later days activities of the Ex-President, I am now again used to the name Monica.
By the way, when would you reveal your name, please? (LOL)

Number 3 sounds good. I don't particularly like names that hard hard to pronounce or spell (having one myself), so 1 and 2 are out for me. And you never want to start a name with a k, with a few exceptions (Kaylee, Kristen, Kirsten), because there are way to many people with those kinds of names who turn into secretaries or grocers. You also never want names with lots of nicknames. Trust me.
So 3 it is, for me.
