The phone rings, you pick up and it is another telemarketer, but this one is polite, he ask if he can speak with you briefly and only after you agree he begins to ask you a few questions to discover if you would benefit from what he has to offer. Of course you say you are not interested, and he says that is no problem and out of curiosity ask you one more quick question.

I say...hey, nothing personal but I hate this chit, please take my number off the list and good luck. They are just trying to put food on the table too so no need to be too rude unless they are.

I would politely insist that I am not interested and thanks for the call but I have to attend to some important business.
I was a telemarketer several times and I have to say that when people hang up its rude and we do call back again saying oh we were disconnected ..another one some of my fellow telemarketers did was call the ppl back and then hang up on them.
Also for those of you who have never been a telemarketer did you know we have all your info address and city everything so think about it next time you tell a telemarketer off on the phone your not that invincible...

I am a receptionist and I get telemarketing calls all day. I am used to them and have to deal with them on a regular basis. I try to always be polite and try to understand that this is their job and they have to make a living too. Sometimes though people get so pushy that you feel like screaming at them... my best advice is to hold back your initial reaction because that will not make you feel better and you could very well ruin there day. So if they get pushy either say "could you please take me off of your calling list" or "Again, I am not interested, have a good night" and hang up.

I nonetheless get some, even nonetheless i'm on the do now not call sign up. usually i'm going to merely ingredient out that and tell them they are breaking the regulation they many times're long long gone in a gasp. i've got tried a similar technique to the man on your clip. Telemarketers unquestionably won't be able to cope with a woman stirring them up (oooh, notwithstanding that's pleasing nonetheless).

I keep them on the line for as long as I can because that is what causes them the most harm. Telemarketing is a rude interuption that we should not have to tolerate, so I see nothing wrong from doing what I can to discourage the practice.

I would say, Please put me on your do not call list. I am so tired of them. Anyone can be a telemarketer, when they have so many other talents they can draw upon. Go into customer service, in person sales, or something else you are good at.

You know most of these people are trying to do their job and are taught to press on....but that does not mean you have to sit through it. I usually will decline another question and tell them thank you for thei effort and I wish them better luck with their next call.
You can put your phone number on the "Do not call" list. I have no trouble with telemarketers now.

I will try to utilize my own manipulations to set an agenda as to where this conversation is really going, such as infusing paranoid idealogy, making it political, or just becoming increasingly hard to understand, by filling my mouth with food or marbles while talking, or making bets on which words I can make them say during the conversation.
Try talking with a strange diction that keeps changing be drawing out the last syllable of each word, especially vowels while repeating back what they say to you.
