i dint think so,cause,i went steady with my boy friend,i was only 16 years old and we marry i was just having my 17 birthday and i got married,my husband was 21 years old and we were marry in 1973.now its been 33 years together.and have 2 beautiful girls and 5 grand-children,so take it from a grand mother,xoxoxo.have a nice day sweat heart,

No. I dated a 20 year old at 16, which is legal also. However I wouldn't recommend it! Having been both 17 and 20, the two are at totally different stages in life, and mindset. Get a nice 18 year old...
Legal age of consent is 14. Statutory rape charges can be brought against anyone 4 years older than that person, up to the age of 18. Your man is not a minor (18 years in Canada), and is only 3 years older than you.

I was 17 and my husband now was 20 when we met. Now I'm 20 and he is 23 we have been married for a 1 and together for almost 4 yrs now

yes it is illegal to date for a 17 year old to date a 20 year old. because that is rape and he can get arrested for it.

I don't think dating is the issue- it would be sexual relations that could be illegal, and the age would vary by location.
