Okay I asked a question before about changing my dogs name, because his name is Kramer, which is the name of the character Michael Richards played on Seinfeld.

I'm not sure what to do. Some people said I should change it, and some people said I shouldn't, so I asked this again with a little more info. My dog is 10 years old so he is used to the name, and it’s the name he had as a puppy when we adopted him. He's really active for his age and very playful and when I take him for walks, sometimes people stop, and ask to pet him and they ask what his name is. Wouldn’t that make it a little awkward? The big thing on the blogs, and websites right now is: “KKKramer”

I think that anyone who has seen the video of Michael Richardson saying what he did (and anyone who watches the news, has most likely seen it), would have a changed opinion about him, and even though “Kramer” is just a TV character name, the person that played that person is Michael Richardson and most people know that

Yes I know my dog has no clue who or what Michael Richards is. I'm more concerned over what other *people* will think.

you are much too worried about a small thing this whole thing will blow over in a month or so until some D-bag movie star person says they hate hate bush, it doesn't matter, a name is just a name. when people ask what your dogs name is they will hear kramer and think of the really tall goofy guy that we all know and love.
not to mention that since your dog is ten y/o it may confuse him. you can't teach an old dog new tricks as the saying goes.
Kramer will pull his name through all of this because dispite what he may have said he is the funny tall goofy guy, and that's it
so what i'm saying is don't change the dogs name, but if you get another pet i wouldn't recommend naming it hitler or anything like that

The actor who portrayed Kramer did a foolish thing. He is obviously a bigot.

But, the Kramer you named your dog after was not a bigot. That Kramer is the lovable, bumbling character on Seinfeld.

So, when people ask you for the dog's name, tell them that "His name is Kramer. I named him after the Kramer character on Seinfeld."

Remember, most actors are only playing a role. In real life, they are much different people. I would think that most people agree with this concept.

A good example of an actor playing roles which were completely different from their own personality and lifestyle is Rock Hudson.

There are many others.

That is hilarious. I actually believed that was a serious question for a second. Isn't it funny how some retards are making such a big deal about this? Like they don't realize that MIchael Richards plays a CHARACTER named Kramer? Or that millions of people had that name before Richards was even born? By the way, in the movie "The Wall", Pink Floyd is watching the hotel room TV, and the military guy on the screen has a dog named N*GG**. You should name your dog N**G*R just for fun.

Ive seen the video and yet my opinion stays the same. It doesnt matter if the dog has his name. Anyone could of named their dog that even without ever seeing/hearng about the show seinfeld. Trust me its a fine name. And its a little late now. I mean once your dog gets used to it there is no way to change it. Trust me i like the name either way and no one can change your opinion. You have no choice but to keep it sorry. I mean if hes 10 years old its a lot to late. Just dont worry and listen to the people who say just keep the name okay. Dont ListenTo The People Who Say Change The Name. Listen to me and all the other people who say dont change the name. Good Luck my friend.

It would be confusing to him if you start calling him something now. Kramer was a character on TV not a real person. Nobody is gonna hear that name and think that you agree with what Michael Richardson said.

The answer she is a clear and a simple.

Your dog had the name Kramer before the TV show was even thought of. Your dog is a good dog and deserves to keep his given birth name. I have a Maine Coon Cat named Martin and like I really give a hoot what Martin Sheen thinks about anything. Not.

Wishing you and Kramer long and happy lives, and a happy Thanksgiving,

Darryl S.
P.S.
Don't forget to slide Kramer a little turkey.

If he was named after Kramer off of Seinfeld, then don't worry about it. He was named after a charactor, not the actor. If he was named Kramer for a different reason, then still don't worry about it. Not to mention, if you're dog is 10 years old, that's probably the only name he'll answer to.

The dog gets to keep the name after all he has had it for ten years! We wont hold it against him . After all he is not a direct descendant of Michael Richardson. Let the dog live in peace and lets hope Michael gets some help!

Keep the name. You'll only confuse the dog. He is named after a tv character that everybody loved. His name isn't Mike, Michael, or Richardson. Don't worry about what others think unless your dog starts biting black people.

Don't change it! Your dog does not know what Michael Richards did and when you named him it is not like you named him after Michael, you named him after Kramer. Forget about, celebrities say and do stupid things all the time, that doesn't mean we need to change our lives.
