That depends.. was he asking for information purposes..or proposing. If he was asking "how do you feel" about these things, I'd take it more as a sign of him wanting to get to know you. If he was asking you to marry him...I'd run like hell.

as long as he didnt actually propose to you, then dont worry about it. People who are looking for long term relationships often like to know about the others views on children and marriage. Wouldnt it blow if you dated someone for years and found out they were never going to marry you or have children with you and that is what you desperately wanted? Or else he is one of those whackos that do stupid things like propose on a 3rd date, which is not uncommon....

We covered that before we even met in person. I was tired of dead end relationships by the time I met my husband and I wasn't willing to put up with another one. If he would've waited to the third date...geez, that would've been taking it way too slow!

I think he's too impetuos and really doesn't know what he wants.... or he's a liar and only want to get laid.
I think that one should wait until one is more sure on your SO before commiting, and if he's commiting too early, maybe he just wants to have a wife and children, not necesarily that you be his wife.
