Besides God loving people and setting Satan on them. "I love my kids, but if they go near that mean dog in the back yard, it's their own a$$! I warned them! Some of them anyway..."

Let's see...

Well, there's "thou shalt not kill" in the Ten Commandments, yet all through the Old Testament, that's exactly what the Israelites are doing when they leave Egypt. They go into the neighboring lands, conquering, pillaging, and killing the locals so they can take over.

There's also the "Love one another" commandment, yet in later parts of the New Testament, it's said that "one who cannot hate a mother, father, sister, or brother, cannot be my follower" or something to that effect. Same goes for loving one another, yet "hate thine enemies".

Those are two of my personal favorites, also just found another, considering the Christian doctrine of God's omniscience...

Jer 32:27/ Matt 19:26: These passages state that God is all powerful, however, Judges 1:19 states that God is not all powerful. Apparently, even the Bible doesn't know if God is all-powerful or not.

And then we can look at the doctrine of there being only ONE God...

Deuteronomy 6:4 states that there is but one God, yet in Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 18:1-3, and 1 John 5:7 says that there are many Gods.

Go to http://www.evilbible.com sometime. Can't say I'm overly fond of the name of the site, even as an atheist, but they've got a section on contradictions in the Bible and there's a nice, long list of them.

There are none. The reason most people believe there are contradictions in the bible is because they don't pay attention to the context in which these particular verses can be found.

For example: In the Old Testament when God says "an eye for an eye" the context is societal law. Imagine if there was no punishment for criminal acts: how could we ever feel safe or free. God was just saying "the punishment should fit the crime".

In the New Testament when God says "turn the other cheek", the context is our inter-personal relationships. Christ was just saying, as an example of love, those who do wrong against you PERSONALLY, fight back with love. In other words, we don't need to take societal laws into our own hands, we should as an individual of that society be a loving member, an example of Christ. Remember Romans 12:21 "be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good".

I say again the bible does not contradict itself!

Please brothers and sisters, look at the Context!!

I'm sorry people, bugs do not have four legs and bats are not birds, and the very fact that there are talking donkeys and snakes in the bible is no indication that there are not things in the bible that contradict reality.

God gives us all a choice of whether to follow Him or not. Yes, bad things happen, it's bc our sin separates us from God's complete protection. So we can hurt ourselves, each other, and be attacked by Satan in various ways. God does love us, which is why He sent Jesus to die for us. God doesn't set Satan on us, He allows Satan to do things to try to disrupt the world and cause ppl to turn against God. Some ppl do turn against Him, but others don't allow their emotions to affect their decisions and stay faithful.

There are no contradictions.

Christians can find a way to twist God killing the innocent firstborn sons of every person and animal in Egypt into being a good thing.

Even the dude who was locked up by the pharoah got his kid killed because he wasn't home to spatter sheep's blood on his door.

That's just sick.
