Does Tn have a state tax on militay pensions? If so what is it.

The State of Tennessee only imposes an individual income tax on taxable dividends and interest. There is no state income tax on salaries, wages, Social Security, or pension income.

You must file a Tennessee state income tax return if you have more than $1,250 ($2,500 for joint filers) of taxable interest and/ or dividend income. Persons over age 65 are exempt from tax if their yearly income is less than $16,200 and they are filing single, or less than $27,000 and filing jointly.

Military persons in an active combat zone can receive an extension to file.

They don't tax you for being in the military. They do have a personal income tax. I did not see any exceptions for military personnel. The link below is the TN Department of Revenue. You should find more information there.
