My wife and I are expecting our first granchild this month but we feel too young to be called Grandma and Grandpa. Do you have any alternative suggestions (i.e. Nanny/Pop-pop)? Maybe a different language? What do you call you Grandparents? Thanks.

My daughters call my husbands parents Yia Yia and PaPa (it is greek. my husbands nieces father is greek and he taught her to call them that)

On my father's side I call my grandparents Nona and Papa (yes, i'm italian) On my mother's I call them Gramma and Grampa. But my friend calls her Grandmother "Gangy." I guess she couldn't say grandma when she was little and the name stuck

Well, I call my grandma Nani, becuase Nani means Grandma in Maltese, which is my familys nationality. And Nanu is my grandpa.

i Canada in the native langauge of Cree indians it is Moosum ( grandpa) and Kookum ( grandmother )
