i did that last year altho i did it by accident an im so so pale, it ooked terrible. i was told to use head and shoulders as it strips the colour from you hair. within a few washes my hair was a dark brown. iv reccommended this to a few ppl i no who've had the same thing happen and it worked for them. so its def the way to get rid of it. if poss, leave the shampoo on for a litle bit and rinse. shampoo about 3 times each wash and use an intensive conditioner to protect the hair. good luck!!

Black doesn't suit many people unless it's their natural colour but if your sister wants to try something new out, she could always do a bit of black liner on her eyes, to make it look almost as if the outrageous hair colour was done on purpose. Like, a bit rocky?
If that isn't her style I guess you could try to find a specialist shampoo or hair treatment - failing that, ask some professionals - ring up your local salon maybe??
Hope this helps =]

The safest way and fastest is to get a good clarifying plain shampoo and wash out the excess. Hair color fades when the wrong shampoo is used that is not for preserving color along with using the conditioners for normal hair types. If she uses another color or chemical it can dry out the hair. I would suggest some really good shampoos, conditioning treatments, possibly a protein pack or oil treatment and it will help condition the hair and strip it out.
Suave makes a decent clarifying shampoo that is inexpensive but it can be a bit drying for very dry hair. I would wash quite a few times it first before using conditioner and rinse it very well.
The worst thing you can do when trying to preserve color is to use something like a clarifying shampoo so just do the opposite of what someone who is trying to preserve the color would do. And tell her while it is fading out as all colors fade to find some makeup to brighten up her lips and clothing to enhance the look so she can work it. Going to a professional if they do not specialize in color can make it worse along with damage the hair further. All hair colors fade without careful care with proper shampoos and conditioners so when she has it lightened up she then may need to hook herself up with good color shampoos and conditioners. It may not be so much that the color is too dark but it may be like when I was young and wanted to try black hair as I saw this beautiful young girl with black hair and wanted to look like her. I did not even do dark dark black and it was just too much for my skin color such that when I faded it out with shampoo alot to a dark brown it looked very good for me and grew out well. Never again for me it just did not do me pretty.

put dawn soap on it and leave it on for a while
that can pull out some of the color but not all
then your sister will have to either let her hair grow out or get her hair dyed.
i did the same thing except it was black with a red tint.

She could make it fade by adding a bit of baking soda to shampoo. It will lighten the color a bit. Only do it for one or two shampoos because the baking soda can be a bit harsh. She may have to go have it lightened by a professional.

If she used a rinse, it will wash out with each shampoo. If she used permanent color, I highly suggest that if she can afford it, she has the color neutralized by a professional or finally just let it oxidize and grow out.

Go to a professional or learn to live with it. I tried dying my hair a honey color after it was dyed black, and ended with a greenish tint in places.

Cut off her hair. It'll grow back her original color.
The box of dye surely said "Black" What did you all expect? Medium? Black is the color - it is ALL DARK by definition! Sorry about that.
