Try 'I Dreamed a Dream' from Les Miserables or 'Send in the Clowns' from A Little Night Music. You could also go to the library and find a book of broadway songs and look through there. Good luck with the audition!

I've had good results with "Frank Mills" from "Hair". There are some high-ish notes towards the end, but the melody kind of eases you into them. It's a song that the people you're auditioning for are likely to be familiar with, but not sick of, and I think just about everyone can relate to the lyrics.

Try to get your hands on the "Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology". There are now four volumes for each voice. The "alto/belter" volumes will have plenty of things to choose from.

"I'm Not That Girl" from Wicked. It hits an E below middle C at the end.

"So Long Deary" from Hello, Dolly is a good one - not too high for belting.
