I have never expressed any hate towards Mexicans or other Latin people. The illegal issue isn't about people from any particular country. Its the act its self.I have friends and neighbors from all nations and we enjoy each others company immensely. Our children have grown up together,we have laughed at each others successes and cried together in our grief. No, to me its not about race or color or anything that petty and mundane. Its about whats legally right and following this nations laws.
I grant you some people on both sides use it to express their hate ,but they are in the minority I think.
In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...
...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people. ...Teddy Roosevelt's great words.

I have ZERO hate toward Mexican/Latino citizens. All I ask is they do like my ancestors did and enter legally. The State Department gave my Japanese daughter-in-law hell to go through to become a citizen, cost me a chunk of change for a decent immigration attorney to make sure she was legally here. She keeps her car insurance paid up, works very hard, is industrious and inventive and they wanted to keep her out even going through legal channels. Where's MY justice?
Stop breaking immigration laws and you might find a warmer attitude.

It starts when a certain group of people have determined they are better than another different group of people. Ask yourself why you do not like another person. Most of the time you will not have a good reason but you will still not like that person. It happens to everybody including me.

I think the question is "What did they not do"? Which is follow the proper procedure in becoming a legal visitor / resident / citizen of this country. It has nothing to do with what race they are.
