The Bible shows that death is like a deep sleep. No memories, no feelings, no concept of time. You won't even know that you died, unless someone brings you back and then you notice the passage of time. Kind of going for an operation and being put to sleep. The sleep felt only around a second long when you finally wake up, but may have been a few hours.
Other beliefs, such as reincarnation, show that you leave your body, travel to some true home...a heaven sort of place. You hang around, maybe waiting for other family members to join you, then you come back to another life and live a new experience. I guess you're a ghost or spirit in between lives.
Who's to say what will happen. Since there is no solid proof, this question will never be answered.

Death, like eternal darkness, Time and Infinity, is an "illusion" and is not real.
The REALITY is:
WE (ONE or ALL) ARE and WE ARE ETERNALLY. (We are a part of the ALL and we "CHANGE" and TRANSFORM but nothing dies....everything feeds something else...like it or not...ITS PERFECT....
If we are made from the Eternal ONE, we are ALIVE and do not die but simply transform. We have always BEEN and will ALWAYS BE. We are not a body but a "spirit" of a"light form" and energy can't be created or destroyed but can only transform. We will always "feel" but we will always feel "different" feelings as we "mutate" into other life forms (away from carbon) with hopefully more "consciousness" or "self awareness" ... A tree, an animal, a handful of dirt, and the ALL, the whole UNIVERSE is a "LIVING ENTITY"....There is no place to go where there is DEATH....even in a rotting body or a stone, there is life, not "conscious" life but still life and "intelligence", not carbon-based life and intelligence but LIFE.
Those who believe in DEATH do not believe in THE ONE!! or GOD. The ONE IS. THE ONE IS EVERYWHERE and EVERYWHEN and there is no place left for DEAD ANYTHING, just different LIFE. There is no place for DARKNESS just more or less "LIGHT". THE ALL (CREATION) is ALIVE and there is only TRANSFORMATION or CHANGE to other forms of LIFE, no death.
SO live on and do not fear death...it is an illusion...It is like TIME, INFINITY and the rest of the "fantasies" of the "religious" fundamentalists" to "tempt and frighten" so as to "control".

I believe you will feel nothing, as your brain will no longer function. But, as I've never been dead, I don't know that for certain.

I don't think I'll feel at all. I'll be dead. Your brain is what registers feelings, if it isn't alive it isn't registering anything.

try holding ur breath for few mintues. the more you hold it, the more you struggle. that's how death feels. keep struggle till it's done except those that God has put mercy on them.

as you die, you see a white light at the end of a tunnel, it's just the brain shutting down. anything beyond that ???????
